Angelica Archangelica includes a range of chemicals that have been proved to have medicinal benefits. Taking this herb either by chewing on the dried roots or brewing Angelica as a tea can cause local anesthesia

This herb can help against some bacteria and fungal infections and can improve the immune system

The roots of Angelica Archangelica contain: β-terebangelene, C10H16 The seeds contain β-terebangelene, together with methylethylacetic acid and hydroxymyristic acid.

Cultivation: 

This plant is not frost hardy.

Seeds are ripe from August to September.

Angelica prefers light sandy to medium loamy and heavy clay soils. The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils and can grow in very acid soil. Can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade and requires moist soil.
