Whether dried or prepared as a tincture store in an air tight conatiner, thats dark and wont impart any of its properties to the preparation for example plastic conatiners can leach their carconegenic properties to herbs (and foods) when stored for long periods of time. The perfect continers for storing dried herbs are ceramic and glass. They need to be dark so as not to alllow sunlight through which can change the chemical properties of the herb.
